In May, the Museums celebrate 2 important dates: the Museums Night and the International Day of Museums.

By 14^th May takes place the 7^th edition of the Museum Night, a proposal from the Ministry of Cultural and Communication of France, initiated in 2005, which have mostly joined the museums of Europe, including the Portuguese. Free welcoming their guests, the museums promote cultural initiatives and festivals until midnight.

At Arpad Szenes- Vieira da Silva Foundation we celebrate the Museum Night with several proposals that start early in the morning: a moment dedicated to the youngest, movies, guided tour to the temporary exhibition; theatre and three different musical moments.

The International day of Museums, ICOM initiative, is celebrated since 1977 and at 18^th May, with diverse activities, this year under the theme “Museum and Memory”.
